Do I need Java?
No. VeloxFactory needs no Java runtime and no application server. It runs where PHP runs: on a modest virtual server, on the machine next to your printer, even on a Raspberry Pi.

Send the data as JSON with the render request or read it live from MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and SQL Server. Connections are tested from the frontend before they go live.
Where does VeloxFactory run? Does it work offline?
Self-hosted on your own server or with a hosting provider of your choice, or as managed SaaS that we run in Germany. The self-hosted version needs no internet connection and also runs in air-gapped networks.

The VeloxFactory application is in English. The language of your documents is set by your templates.
Does VeloxFactory work with AI assistants?
Yes. An MCP server exposes the whole API to AI assistants, and a skill that knows the VeloxFactory conventions helps design templates.

How do I create templates?
Templates are made in Jaspersoft Studio as standard JRXML. Upload the .jrxml, parameters, fields and resources are detected automatically. On request we create the templates for you.
Do our existing JasperReports templates work?
In most cases, yes. Whether your templates run without changes is clarified up front in an analysis.
Which barcodes are supported?
Every barcode type Jaspersoft Studio supports. The common ones such as EAN, Code 128 and QR code work in any case.
Which output formats are there?
PDF, returned as Base64, as a URL or straight into a print task. By mail VeloxFactory sends PDF and Excel.
Are e-invoices such as ZUGFeRD or XRechnung supported?
No, not at the moment. VeloxFactory creates invoices only as pro forma invoices for printing.
Printing
Which printers are supported?
Every printer that can print PDFs. Modern label printers usually can. On Windows the VeloxFactory Print Service takes care of printing.

Yes. The Print Service runs on site with you and is connected directly by WebSocket or polls the print jobs through the API.

No. We never charge by the number of documents created, pages printed or API calls. The price depends on the number of instances, the Print Service installations and the support you need.
Learn moreAre there users and permissions, also through SSO or LDAP?
VeloxFactory manages users and permissions itself, API tokens get fine grained permissions. SSO and LDAP are not supported.
How does support work?
